ClearStar began in 1995 operating first as Compass, a web-based data provider geared toward addressing the needs of the security industry. As the company grew, they moved accounting processes from QuickBooks to NetSuite. This prompted searches for add-ons and integrations that could build their NetSuite experience into exactly what the organization needed, leading ClearStar to first discover Celigo and integrator.io. This solution allowed the team to perform cash applications in NetSuite from the banks automatically, kicking off progress on NetSuite automation for the organization.

Pleased already with the success of their integrator.io experience with Celigo, ClearStar was excited to learn about Celigo’s NetSuite integration brand, CloudExtend. “Somebody mentioned that CloudExtend was part of the Celigo family,” Craig said. “And we were looking for a tool to load data and get data out of NetSuite.” It was a perfect connection for the person responsible for running data loads and verifying that all systems remained up-to-date.

“ExtendInsights by CloudExtend is so much easier,” Craig said. “The app tells you right away if something is wrong with your data upload, and you can get a whole lot more data in and out of the system a lot faster than any other method that I’ve looked at.” This is especially helpful as the accounting team continues to refine how they work with data, adding new custom fields to NetSuite, putting more slices and flavors on the data to make reporting easier. “Being able to update those values through ExtendInsights is so much easier,” said Craig. “For example, right now I’m updating 1,500 records. To do that manually inside NetSuite would take the whole week, versus the 20 minutes or so going through ExtendInsights.”

As the accounting and finance team continues to refine how data is organized, ExtendInsights makes it fast and easy. “Every day, I am using ExtendInsights, updating thousands of records,” Craig said. “If it wasn’t for ExtendInsights, I wouldn’t be here, because there’s no way I could do this manually. I think it’s saved a whole year of my life, which is a little bit crazy to think about. But to be honest, I can’t imagine doing my job without ExtendInsights.”
